CDW/SLI Plus Excess Worldwide
This policy covers: CDW/LDW (damage, theft and loss of use of the rental vehicle)and SLI (third party) in the USA, Canada, the Caribbean and South America: and it covers Excess charges worldwide. Car rental companies in USA and Canada generally charge between US$20 and US$30 per day for Collision Damage Waiver (CDW/LDW) and Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI). Car rental companies charge up to £12 a day for Excess at the car rental counter
- Covers the rented vehicle in the USA, Canada, South America and the Caribbean for Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)/Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) up to US$80,000
- Provides Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI), in the USA, Canada, South America and the Caribbean, up to US $1 million
- Covers Excess on damage to the rental vehicle, Excess on theft and damage to windows/glass, tyres/wheels, the undercarriage and the roof anywhere in the world where Excess is charged.
- Covers the Policy Holder, who must be the person hiring the car, and all additional drivers named on car rental agreement
- Unlimited use within the 12 month cover period
Conditions Applicable
- Not valid for use by residents of the USA, Canada and the Caribbean in the USA, Canada and the Caribbean.
- Not valid if vehicle is rented from a location within 150km of usual residence (for example, if you live in London, you are not covered to rent a vehicle in London. The rental location must be more than 150km away from your London home).
- Not valid for exotic cars (above US $100,000 value) or antique vehicles more than 20 years old
- Not valid for commercial vehicles, camper vans, mobile homes or vans with more than 8 seats
- Restricted to those aged between 21 and 74 years old
- Rental limited to 31 continuous days on any one rental agreement - you can hire the car as often as you wish in the annual cover period.
How it works - CDW/SLI: You must show the policy to the car rental company when you rent a car. Claims are handled directly between the insurance company and the rental company.
How it works – Excess: Decline the car rental company's excess insurance at the counter. Charges for any damage to the vehicle will be charged on your credit card by the car rental company and you claim for full reimbursement.
